Bargaining Update #1 August 10, 2022

Share

We appreciate all of our member's support today, especially your patience as the ground rules were negotiated in the morning. Having you in the Zoom room made all the difference!

We are happy to report that we had a long and productive bargaining session today. Georgia was present and participated in negotiations all day. We know her participation will make the process more efficient.

We reached agreement with the University on ground rules to allow bargaining over Zoom and access for all our members to observe negotiations on August 11, 15, and 17. We expect negotiations to remain open to members going forward.

In the afternoon, we passed proposals about the Demonstration Teacher job description, Pre-6 appointment and reappointment, and the Continuing Appointment (Six Year) review process. We are prepared to pass proposals tomorrow on the continuing appointment (Six Year Review) notice letter, instructional support, merit and promotion review procedures for continuing appointees (people after their SIx Year review), and academic review criteria.

Here are the Ground Rules and Zoom Etiquette that member observers must abide by through August 17th.
